Impressionism and Post Impressionism

Impressionism is an art movement during the 19th century and originated from a group of French artist. Impressionism had a unique way in how artworks were made. They where small, had thin visible brush strokes,  and visual angles. Impressionists represented their artworks from freely brushed colors that focused on the importance on having symmetric lines and contours. You would never see a painting in still life, portraits, and landscapes indoors. They preferred painting outdoors to give the artwork the realistic image.

No matter its efforts to introduce something new still had many important characteristics found in Impressionism however on the other hand, post impressionist rejected the use of color and light while making a remarkable impact on art. Post-Impressionism moved toward the two major movements of early 20th-century art. Cubism and Fauvism.
